| Peptide Synthesis Custom Service |
Imgenex Biotech provides custom service for clients requiring custom made peptides for research use. The peptides are either linear sequence or modified ones. The charges are specific for the sequence and varies depending on the purity level, length of the sequence, modification required, amount supplied etc. There are some frequently asked questions. The customers are requested to clarify with every detail and have full hand knowledge before placing the order for peptide synthesis service. |
| 1. What is the process of your peptide synthesis? |
This is a solid phase synthesis carried out on a peptide synthesizer where the individual AA sequence position is guided by a software program. So the machine synthesize from the resin used, according to the sequence entered into the program. After the synthesises the peptide is subjected to Mass Spec analysis (the result of which is given to the customer). |
| 2. What is the purity level of your peptide we can expect for? |
On an average the level of purity is 70% to 80%. However, the level of purity depends on the sequence of AA. For purity of more than 95% HPLC purification is required. |
| 3.What is the minimum quantity of peptide we can expect? |
A minimum of 10mg would be supplied unless there is a specific request to supply more. Extra amount would involve additional cost. For HPLC purified sample it would be a minimum of 5mg only as against 10mg of crude peptides. For example for 20mg of crude peptide, the price would be doubled. |
| 4. What is the average size of the peptide we can go for synthesis? |
We normally accept peptide sequence varied from 6 mer to 40 mer. |
| 5. What is the normal charge for a linear peptide? |
We normally charge per amino acid. It is Rs. 1400.00. However, there is a minimum price of Rs. 16,000.00 for shorter sequence which includes the cost of providing a minimum quantity of peptide. However, the cost of a peptide varies greatly depending on individual requirements and a gamut of other factors as mentioned in the first paragraph. Clients are requested to send us the sequence first with all the specification and before even sending the quotation. |
| 6. What are the modifications you do normally? |
It may be for addition of a particular group (Phospho group) on the peptide, addition of carboxyl group on the C Terminal, developing a peptide for Antibody synthesis and other modification. |
| 7. How much time it takes to synthesize the peptide? |
It will be a minimum of 4 weeks after getting the PO from the clients. Some times it is faster still, we request customer to prepare for the said period for the order to be complied. |
